7th Red Team Homework Policy Reminders

We believe homework is a valuable tool to help students make the most of their school experience.  We give homework for the following reasons:

1.  All assignments are due on the due date at the beginning of the class period.  Student may be counted tardy if they need to leave the classroom to retrieve materials.

2.  All assignments are due on the due date at the beginning of class.  Twenty percent will be deducted from the grade earned on late assignments up to the unit assessment.  Anything turned in after the unit assessment may receive up to fifty percent completion.

3.  Late assignments from any quarter will not earn points for the student if turned in after that quarter has ended.  (e.g.  First quarter assignments will not increase a student's grade if turned in after the first quarter has ended.)  This policy does not apply to students that had an INC (incomplete) on their report card at the end of the quarter.

4.  Students are responsible for making up all work when they have been absent for any reason (this includes music lessons, school-sponsored activities -see p. 6 of student handbook).  When students return to school, it is their responsibility to collect missing assignments, hand in papers and make arrangements to complete work.

5.  If a student cheats/copies/plagiarizes, the action will result in the grade being docked.  In addition, cheating and/or copying will result in a behavior infraction.  Any student who allows his/her work to be copied will receive the same consequences as the student who did the copying.

6.  Students will have one late homework coupons for use during that quarter to receive full points earned.  This assignment must be turned in the next day.

7.  After school camp is required for any student who has 7 or more missing/late assignments.  After school camp is every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday until 4:30pm.
