Packer Day of Exam Trouble shooting tips Important AP Exam note: If you're planning to submit a PDF of your handwritten work, remember that PDFs are TEXT FILES, not PHOTOS. Make sure to select the "Attach Text File" option to locate, attach, and submit your saved PDF. If you want to submit a photo of a handwritten AP Exam answer from an iPhone or iPad, make sure to change your camera settings so your photos are saved as JPEGs, not HEICs. Go to Settings > Camera > Formats > Select “Most Compatible.” If your photo is already saved as an HEIC file, don’t just rename the file extension from “.HEIC” to “.jpg” or “.png” – it will remain an HEIC and we won’t be able to accept it. If you email the photo to yourself using the Mail app, the photo will automatically convert to a JPEG. |

CORONAVIRUS
UPDATE: From: Trevor Packer Twitter feed Senior Vice President of Advanced Placement & Instruction at College Board. 2020 AP Bio Exam: The health and safety of educators and students are the AP Program’s highest priorities. We considered canceling AP testing this year, but 91% of AP students surveyed asked we not. So we’ll invest heavily to provide optional online daily AP review classes and at-home AP testing. To support those affected by school closures due to COVID-19, students and schools will have access to free, live, daily, mobile-friendly AP review lessons, taught by superb AP teachers from across the country, beginning March 25. The at-home AP Exams this year will not include any multiple-choice questions, only free-response questions (45 minuted) adapted for secure testing at home. They will measure skills that can't be learned from Google or chats with friends. By April 3, we will post the specifics for each exam. Two testing dates: one in May; one later Because of the challenges created by COVID-19, we’re developing a new at-home AP Exam option. Students will be able to test on a computer, tablet, or smartphone. To be fair to all students, the exams will only cover topics typically covered by early March. (Units 1-6) Specific AP Exam dates and free-response question types will all be posted by April 3. We’'ll also unlock that day any relevant free-response questions in AP Classroom for digital use so students can access all practice questions of the type that will appear on the exam. The at-home exams are designed and administered in ways that prevent cheating; we use a range of tools and techniques, including plagiarism detection software, to protect exam integrity. Scoring at-home AP Exam work is not new; for years, we’ve done this for CSP and Capstone. Like a college exam, these exams will be open book/"open note". They won't test simple factual recall; instead they'll be foused on skills and thematic understandings. Students can get refunds from their schools if they choose not to test. No $40 cancellation fee of course. |

Online course schedule COLLEGE BOARD AP Live Online Classes and Reviews Why are these reviews about material (Evolution) that isn't supposed to be on the exam ? FROM COLLEGE BOARD:While the online courses will include daily review in regards to a practice item students will complete each day, we are also giving our teachers the opportunities to hone the skills necessary for the content students will need for sequent course success. As noted on the website, while the exam is focusing on the first 75% of the course content, the skills are carried throughout and we will include supplemental lessons on the latter 25% to support that. We recognize the 2020 AP exams will be focused on the first 75% of the course content. We do, however, recognize that giving students exposure to the final aspects of a course is imperative so that they are prepared for the sequent course they might be enrolled in if they earn qualifying exam scores. |
