BELOW are excerpts from letters written by 2010 AP BIO students to the next year's AP BIO class"

"STUDY! STUDY! STUDY !  ~JZ

". . . I realized how awesome the AP study guide (commonly called the "Holtzclaw and Holtzclaw book") is. It does a really good job of covering the important points of the chapter without lasting 25 pages. It's not a substitute for the book; I wish I had read all the actual chapters. But it's the coolest review/cramming tool I used." ~ GE

"When Mrs. Riedell "bets money" on a subject, pay attention and star it in your worksheet" ~SC

"It is much easier to put in the time over the course of the year and not cram at the end" ~JT

"Don't memorize. Link things you know to things you are learning" ~ CS

"When I started this class, I pretty much figured that I knew everything from Bio 1 + 2 still. Yeah, I really didn't. REVIEW OLD BIO STUFF! ~ JD

"Conduct as many study groups as possible; discussing concepts with friends solidifies your knowledge." ~DB

"Use the website: Mrs. Riedell has put together an excellent and comprehensive website that has a staggering amount of information. Even if you can't bring yourself to read every chapter, review using the multitude of Powerpoints, games, etc." ~ AW

"Read the friggen textbook" ~KR

"If you already have the chapter read when Mrs. Riedell starts giving notes, you will definitely understand the material by the end of a chapter" ~GE

"Be an active learner" ~AH

"You can handle this class, I promise. But you won't do well if you don't: work/care about it/ and try" ~ JS

"Use the resources you're given. The two summary books are pretty helpful" ~ EC

"Ask as many questions as your brain can come up with" ~ DJ

"Don't cram, period!" ~ EC

" Mrs. Riedell ..... will help you with anything at any hour (literally). If you need help ask for it" ~ DJ

"ENJOY AP BIOLOGY!" ~DB
