IF YOU ARE TAKING THE DIGITAL EXAM
~ Students taking digital exam will NOT be able to go back to a question
once it has been answered
~ Students taking digital exams will not be asked to draw or graph as
part of their response—rather, these skills will be assessed with
questions about given graphs or other stimuli.

2021 AP BIOLOGY EXAM
~ Exams will be offered on paper in person May 14, and as a digital exam May
27th and June 11th.
~ Both the paper and digital versions will contain the typical
multiple-choice and freeresponse sections.
~
How will the in person/digital tests be different?
~ AP Exam Calculator Policy, a 4-function (with square root),
scientific, or graphing calculator is allowed on all versions of the
exam.
~ On the digital exam, students will answer free-response questions with
a keyboard, rather than by hand.
~ Students taking digital exam will NOT be able to go back to a question
once it has been answered
~ Students taking digital exams will not be asked to draw or graph as
part of their response—rather, these skills will be assessed with
questions about given graphs or other stimuli.
~ The digital exam app will include any symbols students would need to
type their responses.
~ No handwritten or photographed work will be required or accepted.

Exam Dates
are released by the CB. Basically, there are 3 options:
1. Paper in school May 14th;
2. Digital home or school May 27th
3. Digital home or school June 11th.
It will be up to AP coordinators to move/change
registrations.
It isn’t teachers or kids that chose how to test, it is the
school/district that will be making the choice and mix and match is
possible.

This question assesses student ability to

• Part B (3-4 pts) Identify experimental
design procedures.
• Part C (1-3 pts) Analyze data.
